An evening routine with a focus on you, your body and your mind

An evening routine with a focus on you

For most of us, everyday life is full of chores, deadlines and regular duties. Here we give you some tips and ideas on how you can give yourself a well-deserved break, which at the same time gives your body and skin a boost for the day ahead.

Fill your body with warmth

After a long day at work, the body needs to relax and get into gear. A cup of hot tea can contribute several positive things to both the body and the skin. Tea is full of antioxidants , which can help repair the skin and prepare it for a new day. So find your favorite tea, pour water over it and give yourself a well-deserved break from everyday chores.

Give your brain a break

Our brain works all day and we are constantly being aware and influenced by things. It may therefore be a good idea that in the evening you give your brain a break and instead fill it with things that make you happy and make your body relax. If you haven't tried mindfulness before, it might be an idea to give it a try. Mindfulness affects, among other things, the areas of the brain that relate to our social interaction, ability to make decisions, counteract stress and feel ourselves. It doesn't have to take more than 5 or 10 minutes, but it will most likely benefit your body and mind.

Give your skin a loving boost

During the day, your skin has carried around make-up, creams and sweat. Your skin will thank you for giving it a good skincare routine. In the LYKKEGAARD series you will find several different skin care products that will be absolutely perfect for your evening skin care routine. Our skin therapist Clara recommends that you start with our Facial Cleansing Foam , then use a Micellar 3in1 Face Tonic and finish with the Moisture Night Cream , which can be left to work overnight. We recommend that you wash off your night cream the morning after, as your skin has already collected bacteria and dirt overnight.

Prepare your bed for the night

Your skin and hair will thank you for replacing your classic pillowcase with a silk one. Your pillowcase is the surface that will most frequently come into contact with your skin during your sleep. Therefore, your skin will also be in long-term contact with bacteria and dirt that settles on your pillow. Silk has several beneficial effects for your skin, and can, among other things, reduce irritation and inflammation in the skin. A silk pillow cover is therefore something worth investing in, especially for people with sensitive and delicate skin. As a bonus, you can find them in several beautiful colors and they often have an exclusive look.

Take a break from technology

When you get close to an hour before going to bed, it may be a good idea to put away the mobile phone and the computer. When we use our mobile, computer or tablet, we tell the brain to stay awake. The brain will therefore not start producing melatonin , which is our sleep hormone, and you will therefore have difficulty falling asleep. Instead, find a good book or magazine and read it before you go to sleep.
