As a natural and organic skincare brand, LYKKEGAARD ​​has therefore prioritized that none of our products contain the 26 potentially allergenic perfume substances.

26 potentially allergenic perfume substances

The EU has adopted a list of 26 potentially allergenic perfume substances , which must appear in the declaration if they are added to a skin care product. In this way, allergy sufferers can see if there is a perfume substance in it that they cannot tolerate. But how much the manufacturers add of the individual substance does not have to be declared, which is problematic, as the quantity is decisive. The greater the amount of the allergenic substance added, the greater the risk of allergy.

But what should you look for when buying a skin care product? And how do you know it is safe and healthy for the skin? LYKKEGAARD ​​recommends looking at certifications. Below we explain what it means that LYKKEGAARD ​​products have the Nordic Ecolabel and that four of our products have the Asthma-Allergy label - and why these certifications can be a good rule of thumb to look for when you buy skin care products.

The Swan label

For you as a consumer, the Nordic Ecolabel means that you do not have to familiarize yourself with how the products have been manufactured, read the long content declaration on the back of a product or have to remember chemicals that you would like to avoid. If you see the Nordic Ecolabel, you can be sure that the product is better for the environment and for you - and that the product is among the best environmentally friendly products in its product group.

Asthma-Allergy Denmark label

In order to assess whether a product can carry the Asthma-Allergi Danmark label, information is required on all ingredients in the product, as well as their concentration and function. Certification improves your opportunities to make a safe and active choice in relation to skin allergies, and it makes it easier for you as a consumer to navigate around the products you see on the shelves. So when a product is labeled Asthma-Allergy, it means that the product has been thoroughly reviewed by experts and assessed in terms of allergy risk. So if you want to avoid perfume in a product, this is the logo to look for when buying skin care.
